Maximizing Space: Green Inplant Offices
Building planning and construction is more than just erecting a structure. Buildings have the potential to last generations, and managing the resources used to create these structures will continue to ensure that our planet's finite natural resources can also serve future generations.

Part of "green building" comes with maximizing space, by using it efficiently. In the past, many companies would simply build a new structure to accommodate their expansion needs. Practices like this often waste resources, land, and increase the carbon footprint of the job. A trend has started amongst many companies in which they maximize their warehouse space by creating inplant offices.

The preferred method for inplant office building is modular construction which uses sustainable methods. Typically speaking, modular construction builds the major assets of the project (walls, doors, windows, etc.) under controlled conditions in a factory. This leads to far less waste and mess, and an easier means of recycling materials. After these materials are completed at the factory, they are transported via flatbed truck to the construction site where they are assembled.

Inplant offices are a great way to use extra space in your warehouse. Instead of having to build an entirely new structure these modularly built offices provide a great work space. Modular construction also offers a great deal of flexibility in terms of design choices and layouts. Inplant offices can stand alone as their own free standing structures or can be combined with the walls of your warehouse. Some companies elect to use one wall, whereas other will take advantage of corner space and use the two existing walls of the structure. Modular offices can also be built as two story structures or in conjunction with a mezzanine.

Furthermore, modular offices can be decorated and designed to your tastes. Custom paint, carpet, and windows can easily make a modular office suitable for an executive. Modular walls are known for their superior insulation qualities and can provide a quiet place to work in the midst of a warehouse. HVAC systems can also be added to inplant offices for a nice climate controlled environment. By doing your part for the environment you can focus on cooling or heating a smaller inplant office versus an entire warehouse. Lastly, inplant offices can be used with fire rated walls; some of these walls can withstand flames for an hour!
