Protect Your Facility With a Guard Rail
Warehouses and factories can be dangerous places. There are usually lots of laborers working with large machinery that can often be loud. In addition to these factors forklifts, trucks, and pallet jacks may also be moving about the facility. Taking a few extra steps to protect employees, equipment, and your facility can make all the difference. Guard rail makes for an excellent cost effective solution.

Most people are familiar with guard rail and have seen it on the shoulder of mountain roads, freeways, and expressways to keep drivers safe. This same rail can be used to protect your facility, and eliminate or minimize damage related to workplace accidents and collisions.

Guard rail is constructed out of steel and formed into the traditional rail shape. These rails typically come in a variety of sizes that can be custom fitted based on your needs. The rail is attached via mounting posts, or bollards, that are affixed to the concrete. Additionally, protective rail is quite easy to install and doesn't require a general contractor or skilled craftsman.

There is a large variety of colors and customization options available for protective rails. Because they are constructed of steel, powder coating is a great option for painting these rails. Powder coating is known for its uniform finish and it doesn't crack or chip. Furthermore powder coating is quite resistant to fading from the sun, scratching, peeling, and to most chemicals and solvents. Best of all, powder coating is also much better for the environment as no harmful solvents or thinners are needed in the painting process. Although the rail is available in many colors, most companies prefer to use the bright OSHA yellow for high visibility.

Guard rail can also be fitted to the specific needs of your structure, as it is available in single rail or double rail height. Most people find increased benefits by placing the rail in front of large machines as well as the inside and or outside perimeter of their buildings.

The ultimate goal with a guard rail is safe guarding from accidents and collisions. If an accident does occur it is far more cost efficient to replace or repair the guard rail versus repairing or replacing structures, equipment, walls, and anything else that may have been damaged. Guard rail is designed to be long lasting and requires little to no maintenance.

In conclusion, protective rails are a cost effective solution for protecting your facility from collisions and work place accidents.
